The hotel is also home to an award winning tearoom. When it comes to national traditions, there are few that seem more quintessentially English than afternoon tea. The tearoom was opened by world-renowned chef Marco Pierre White in December 2007 and, less than a year after opening, was rewarded for its exceptionally high standards and chosen to become a member of the illustrious Tea Guild. The tearoom was recently commended again by The Tea Guild when it was named a ‘Tearoom of Excellence’ for 2013, and awarded the title of ‘Top Tea Place 2010’. The tearoom serves a mind-boggling array of teas from around the world, including herbal infusions, green teas and the Black Swan blend.
