Sue joined the Black Swan on the “glorious 12th” August 1991 after two years at Scarborough Tech studying Hotel, Catering & Hospitality Management. She began her career working as a waitress before moving around the departments to finally climb the ladder to become Reception Manager. In November 2007 Sue took a break and left the hotel to look after her two young sons Lewis and Harry.
Sue lives in the nearby village of Chop Gate with her family and in her spare time she can be found driving any kind of plant hire machine for her husband John’s business.
Realizing she missed working at The Black Swan she returned in May 2012 to lead the Reception team again sharing her knowledge of customer service. September 2013 brings a new appointment to Revenue Manager. 2017 brought new challenges and excitement to be promoted to Executive Assistant. Sue may be the smallest of the management team at the Black Swan but she’s always up for a challenge and is a friendly, approachable team member.
