Christmas 2015 at The Black Swan Hotel
There are few more idyllic places to spend your Christmas break than at The Black Swan, Helmsley. In a scene from a traditional greetings card; the historic facades of the hotel overlooking the market square, the neighbouring churchyard, bordered by higgledy rows of shops, their starlit windows crammed with festive goodies.
Inside the hotel a warm welcome awaits – open log fires in each of the cosy, beamed lounges and the knowledge that you can simply relax and enjoy this beautiful retreat and all that it offers.
Christmas Eve – Thursday 24th December 2015
Your room will be available to check in from 2pm on Christmas Eve. Once you’ve had chance to settle into your room, relax in one of our cosy lounges or the Cygnet Bar and enjoy a mini Afternoon Tea.
From 7pm the management team would like to invite you to join them for a pre-dinner drinks reception, where you’ll enjoy a chilled glass of Champagne Taittinger Brut and canapés whilst being entertained by swing singer Adrian Doyle. A seven course Gala Dinner will then follow from 7.30pm in The Gallery, our 3 AA rosette restaurant.
Please note that guests will be seated at mixed tables for the Gala Dinner on Christmas Eve. Gentlemen are kindly requested to wear lounge suits for dinner.
After dinner, for those of you choosing to head to Midnight Mass at neighbouring All Saints Church, hot chocolate, mulled wine and mince pies will be waiting for you on your return to the hotel.

Christmas Day – Friday 25th December 2015
Enjoy a hearty full English breakfast on the morning of Christmas Day, and for those of you who’ve been good there might even be a visit from Santa!
Christmas Day lunch is a leisurely affair, accompanied by music from saxophonist Jon Taylor. After lunch, you may wish to retire to the Cygnet Bar or one of our cosy lounges, where Christmas cake and port will be served to toast the Queen’s speech.
Later in the evening you are invited to enjoy a light informal buffet in either the restaurant or more comfortable surroundings of one of our lounges, the choice is yours. From 7pm, harpist Sarah Paterson will be playing in the bar.

Boxing Day – Saturday 26th December 2015
After breakfast the day is yours to enjoy as you choose. For those wishing to stay a little closer to home, mid-afternoon there will be a wine and cheese tasting session.
Dinner on Boxing Day evening will be served in The Gallery, and afterwards, as the festive celebrations draw to a close, we’re delighted to welcome jazz and swing band ‘The Eugene Farrar Trio’ who’ll be entertaining you in the Garden Room playing some easy listening renditions and a repertoire with songs for those of you who wish to get up and dance!

For guests wishing to extend their Christmas break, preferential rates are available between 20th December – 23rd December 2015, inclusive, and from 27th December – 29th December 2015 inclusive. The rates below include a three course dinner from the A la Carte Menu and full English breakfast, and are per room, per night:

T&Cs: A deposit of £300.00 is required to secure your Christmas booking. The balance for your stay should be settled by 1st December 2015. If you wish to extend your booking, these additional nights should be settled on departure from the hotel, however a deposit of £50.00 per night will be required for any additional nights booked. Provisional bookings can be held for up to one week, after this time they will be released if a deposit has not been received. Please note that all deposits are non-refundable. The Christmas Eve Gala Dinner Menu and the Christmas Day Lunch Menu printed in this brochure are correct at the time of print, slight amendments and variations to these menus may occur. Any guests with dietary requirements should advise the hotel at least 14 days prior to arrival. Please note that on Christmas Eve, guests will be seated at mixed tables for the Gala Dinner which is a set menu. Gentlemen are kindly requested to wear lounges for dinner on Christmas Eve. The hotel reserves the right to amend the content of the package without prior notice. Children are welcome to join for the Christmas package, and will be charged at 75% of the adult rate when occupying their own bedroom.
