Over the years The Black Swan has received many awards for its superb hospitality, the food it serves and the quality of its services

Yorkshire Life Hotel of the Year 2008 - 2009

Four star status from the AA.

Two AA Rosettes for food in the Rutland Restaurant, one of the best local restaurants. The restaurant received its awards for its high standards and level of consistency along with it attention to detail and the fact that only the highest quality of ingredients are used.

Member of the prestigious Tea Guild. One of only five members in North Yorkshire. The Tea Guild maintains a watching brief throughout the year to ensure that standards of excellence are maintained. Only those, which meet the exacting standards, are offered membership.

Head Chef Andrew Burton, member of the Master Chefs of Great Britain. Full members of the MCGB are professional chefs who can be said to be amongst the leaders in their chosen field, be it in hotels or restaurants.
