From the moment you arrive, our roaring log fires and cosy array of lounges will become your home away from home and we’d like to do whatever we can to make this Christmas as memorable and magical as possible.
Christmas Eve – Wednesday 24th December 2014
Once you’ve had chance to settle into your room, relax in one of our cosy lounges or the Cygnet Bar and enjoy a mini Afternoon Tea from our award winning Tearoom.
From 7pm the management team would like to invite you to join them for a pre-dinner champagne and canapés reception with carols from Helmsley Methodist Church carol singers. A seven course Gala Dinner prepared by Head Chef Paul Peters will then follow from 7.30pm in The Gallery, our 3 AA rosette restaurant.
After dinner, take a seat in the Cygnet Bar where you’ll be entertained by live music from swing and lounge singer, Adrian Doyle.
For those of you choosing to head to Midnight Mass at All Saints Church which is just a short stroll away, hot chocolate, mulled wine and mince pies will be served on your return to the hotel.

Wild Mushroom and Truffle Consommé – Ravioli of Smoked Chicken, Chives
Pressing of Rabbit – Poached Cherries, Pistachio, Sour Dough Crisp, Cherry Dressing, Honey Cress

Christmas Day – Thursday 25th December 2014
Enjoy a hearty full English breakfast on the morning of Christmas Day, and for those of you who’ve been good, there might even be a visit from Santa!
Christmas Day lunch will be leisurely affair, accompanied by music from saxophonist Jon Taylor. After lunch, you may wish to retire to the Cygnet Bar or one of our cosy lounges, where you can sit back, relax and watch the world go by to the sounds of harpist Sarah Paterson. For those of you choosing to, Christmas cake and port will also be served to toast the Queens speech.
Later in the evening you are invited to enjoy a light informal buffet in either the restaurant or more comfortable surroundings of one of our lounges, the choice is yours. After dinner, take a seat in the Cygnet Bar where Val Boyers, singer and acoustic guitarist will be performing.

Boxing Day – Friday 26th December 2014
After breakfast the day is yours to enjoy as you choose, perhaps venturing out to York for a bit of sales shopping or taking to the moors for a brisk walk. Or for those wishing to stay a little closer to home, later in the afternoon there will be a wine and cheese tasting session.
Dinner on Boxing Day evening will be served in The Gallery, and afterwards, as the festive celebrations draw to a close, we’re delighted to welcome David Robertshaw who’ll be entertaining you in the Cygnet Bar with some beautiful piano renditions.

Inevitably there sadly comes a time when you have to go home. Following a hearty breakfast, we’ll wish you a safe journey home until next year.

Classic Rooms – £1285.00 (double), £895.00 (single)

Superior Rooms – £1420.00 (double), £1030.00 (single)
Junior Suite – £1450.00 (double), £1060.00 (single)
Single Room – £840.00 (please note that we only have one single room)
For guests wishing to extend their Christmas break to include the 23rd or 27th – 30th December a rate of £225.00 per room per night, including dinner, bed and breakfast, based on two people sharing a Classic room is available. Feature and Superior rooms are available at an additional charge of £30.00 per room per night.
T&Cs: A deposit of £300.00 is required to secure your Christmas booking. The balance for your stay should be settled by 1st December 2014. If you wish to extend your booking, these additional nights should be settled on departure from the hotel. Provisional bookings can be held for up to one week, after this time they will be released if a deposit has not been received. Please note that all deposits are non-refundable. Closer to Christmas sample menus will be available online, slight amendments and variations to these menus may occur. Any guests with dietary requirements should advise the hotel at least 14 days prior to arrival. Please note that on Christmas Eve, guests will be seated at mixed tables for the Gala Dinner. The hotel reserves the right to amend the content of the package without prior notice. Children are welcome to join for the Christmas package, and will be charged at 75% of the adult rate when occupying their own bedroom.
