Christmas Eve – Monday 24th December 2012
Arrive & unwind…
Your bedrooms will be ready for you to check in, unpack and make yourself at home from 2pm onwards. Once you’ve had chance to settle in, at your leisure make your way down to the lounges where a decedent traditional Afternoon Tea will be served until 5.30pm.
At 7pm the management team would like to invite you to join us for a champagne and canapés drinks reception in the Garden Room with carols from Helmsley Methodist Carol singers which will be followed by a leisurely dinner in the 2 AA rosette Rutland Restaurant. After dinner make your way through to the bar where live music will entertain you.
For those of you choosing to go to Midnight Mass at the neighbouring All Saint’s Church, warm refreshments will be available for you on your return to the hotel.
Christmas Day – Tuesday 25th December 2012
Ho, Ho, Ho…
As Christmas Day dawns you might find that you’ve had a visit from a mystery guest? From 8am – 10am make your way down to the Rutland Restaurant for a hearty Christmas Day breakfast.
Christmas Day lunch is a leisurely affair served from 1pm – 3pm, accompanied by music from saxophonist Jon Taylor. After lunch to toast the Queens speech, for those choosing to, Christmas cake and port will be served in the Cygnet Bar and lounges.
Later that evening if you have room(!), a light informal buffet dinner will be served between 7.30pm – 9pm. Live music will be performed in the bar so if you’d prefer to grab a bit to eat and take it through to enjoy with some background entertainment, the choice is yours.
Boxing Day – Wednesday 26th December 2012
Breakfast will be served from 8am – 10am. After breakfast the day is yours to enjoy as you choose, perhaps venturing out to York for a bit of sales shopping or taking to the moors for a brisk walk.
Later in the afternoon ‘The Toffs’, piano and double bass duo will entertain in the Garden Room between 3-5pm, whilst Alison Souter, Tearoom Manager, offers a fun Tea Tasting Master Class proving that there certainly is more to tea!
As the festive celebrations draw to a close on Boxing Day evening, join us for cocktails in the Garden Room from 7pm, followed by our Head Chefs finale Gala Dinner, a six course menu gastronomic experience which will leave you wanting to come back for more!!
After dinner, swing and lounge singer Adrian Doyle, will entertain in the Cygnet Bar with a selection of songs from the likes of Sinatra to draw your Christmas to a close.

T&C’s: A deposit of £100 per room, per night is required to secure your Christmas booking. The balance for your stay should be settled by 1st December 2012. If you wish to extend your booking, these additional nights should be settled on departure from the hotel. Provisional bookings can be held for up to one week, after this time they will be released if a deposit has not been received. Please note that all deposits are non-refundable. Sample menus for Christmas will be available online, slight amendments and variations to these menus may occur. Any guests with dietary requirements should advise the hotel at least 14 days prior to arrival. The hotel reserves the right to amend the content of the package without prior notice. Children are welcome to join for the Christmas package, and will be charged at 75% of the adult rate.
