The Gallery – a new name for dining at The Black Swan

With five centuries of heritage, The Black Swan has held a fine reputation for hospitality for many years. This autumn this will be further enhanced with the re-launch of our new restaurant, ‘The Gallery’.

The renaming of the restaurant reflects the dual functionality of the space as an art gallery throughout the daytime showcasing original artwork for ‘The Helmsley Galleries’, the most important commercial collection of art in the North, and a restaurant of gastro art in the evening.

The Gallery is set to become Helmsley’s smartest new restaurant, its stylish décor and lighting, influenced by the English walled gardens that it overlooks, the space will be light and airy with verdant shades, reflecting the palette of the gardens, with accents of deep red and rich cream. The restaurant welcomes both hotel guests and non-residential diners alike.

The Gallery will offer a selection of exciting menus which will infuse the best of Yorkshire ingredients with creative food combinations, exciting taste bud-popping flavours and modern simplicity.

Australian-born Chef, Paul Peters, is the Gastro-artist, showcasing his creations, the ten-course menu ‘The Gallery Signature Menu’, a six-course Tasting Menu, the table d’hôte menu and the  Market Menu.
