Originally from Teesside, Kevin, a former publican of 6 years, arrived at The Black Swan in 2001 as Bar Manager. He reluctantly left in 2004 to become a Front of House Manager at another local hotel, and also held another couple of positions including becoming a publican again for a short time, before being asked to return to The Black Swan to manage the newly refurbished Cygnet Bar in 2011.
Kevin has a passion for real ales and has locally sourced a brewer to create our own Black Swan Cask Ale, which is enjoyed by locals & visitors alike.
The Cygnet Bar also boasts a fine array of whiskey’s from around the globe to suit any palate, or if you fancy something a little different, Kevin and his team of Mixologists will concoct a vast selection of cocktails to tantalise your taste buds.
Away from work Kevin enjoys the other passion in his life ‘RUBY’ his Classic 1972 MGBGT, which he takes for a spin whenever he can. He also enjoys travelling & sampling the fine wines of the world with his wife Julie, whom he met locally, they in fact had their wedding here at The Black Swan in 2012, which Kevin says was one of the happiest and most memorable days of his life (apart from Ruby passing her MOT that is).

Just a note to say thank you for such a lovely night at the Black Swan. The food is amazing and all the staff are excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed the break and would like to return in the future.
